If you are part of my oily Facebook group, you have probably seen the info on why we no longer burn candles at home. I was so excited to discover this healthy and EASY option! Since discovering them, I have used them inside and outside. For outdoors, Citronella or Purification oils are great options. Indoors, I love orange. If you are looking for something seasonal, you might try Light the Fire blend for fall or Christmas Spirit blend for winter. You can make them in small or large mason jars, totally up to you. Here’s what you need:
Add the water to the mason jar. In a glass bowl, mix the olive oil and essential oil. Pour oil mixture into mason jar, it will float on top of the water. Place your floating wick on top, light and enjoy!
If you are not part of my YL oily Facebook group and would like to be, comment below! The group is Secret so you won’t find it by searching, but I’m happy to add you via email.
TIPS: You really only need enough olive oil to cover the entire wick below water. So depending on your surface area, you may use less (mine is deeper than it needs to be in the photo). These candles will not smell NEARLY as strongly as diffusing oils, so I still diffuse inside for the scent and the health benefits of diffusing. BUT, these are a great way to enjoy the candle light, take them outside, etc.
